The 20th Force Support Squadron Weasel Wagon hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony next to the Skeet and Trap facility, April 9.
The ceremony introduced the food trailer and a brand new dining pavilion to the base, which will provide an alternate food source for individuals working on the east side of base.
“Instead of having to go all the way downtown for food and waste half their lunch just getting there, or even wasting 10 to 15 minutes getting to the other side of base, we’re giving our customers here something they don’t have to travel far for,” said Horace Garrison, 20th FSS Shaw Lanes Bowling Center manager, whose team is helping to kick start the Weasel Wagon.
The wagon crew plans to feature a daily veggie wrap in addition to rotating menus with food categories such as Tex Mex, international and All-American. Breakfast burritos will also be served from 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Prior to the ceremony, Airman 1st Class Timothy Johnson, 20th Operations Support Squadron air traffic controller, picked up breakfast for his shop.
Johnson said his office usually sends a runner to grab meals, which can take them 30 minutes or more; however with the Weasel Wagon, they will be able to save a lot of time. He also added that the menu looks great and he is excited to try the food.
Menu items are subject to change based on customer satisfaction.
The Weasel Wagon is open from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday in the pavilion next to the Skeet and Trap facility.
