JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fleet Readiness Center Southeast hosted industry leaders from around the country Thursday for an open conversation about how the private sector could help meet the facility’s needs.
Officially known as “Industry Day,” more than 50 civilian representatives took tours of the facility, and spoke with the Deputy Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers, Mr. Martin Ahmad, and other leadership to better understand how the public and private sector can work together.
“An event like Industry Day helps create transparency between the government and industry,” said John Martin, FRCSE Business Office Director. “It helps to identify areas where help is needed from a depot perspective and asks industry where they can help.”
For their part, industry representatives traveled from across the state and country to attend the event.
“I think that it’s smart of COMFRC to do this,” said Jonathan Cruz, an account executive with technology company Red River. “I really value these industry days because it gives us exposure to the people on the ground, so we can see the specific needs of the depot.”
Adrienne Somerville, director, COMFRC National Business Operations, further elaborated that innovative solutions are readily available in industry, and that is exactly what the FRCs need.
"During the visits to the FRC Southwest, East and Southeast, it was very apparent that innovative digital solutions are indeed available in industry,” she said. “It is also clear there are potential industry partners who are positioned to respond to the need for urgency in support of our efforts at the FRCs to improve readiness for Naval Aviation."
