Airmen wanting to begin or continue their journey to get a degree can sometimes run into obstacles.
Giovanna Treglio, 47th Force Support Squadron education services specialist, helps Airmen choose a degree plan and then develop a strategy to achieve it.
“We are here to help Airmen get going in the right direction, help them decide what they want to pursue and how they want to pursue it,” Treglio said. “We provide you all the information and guidance you need to figure out how to best meet your education goals.”
Today, the Community College of the Air Force has graduated more than twice the amount of Airmen than in 1987, when there were about 100,000 more Airmen. Treglio’s job is to ensure Airmen take advantage of valuable programs, like the CCAF, as well as other advanced programs.
“Most of our enlisted Airmen come out of tech-school with a decent amount of college credit and don’t even realize it,” Treglio said. “I get to introduce Airmen to the Air University Associates to Baccalaureate Cooperative, which is a super amazing program that maximizes your military training credit, and generally can put you within 60 credit hours of receiving a bachelor's degree after completing your CCAF degree.”
Treglio also emphasized the importance of getting a degree plan started while at Laughlin.
“You’re in the best place to start working toward your education,” Treglio said.
Treglio’s passion for helping Airmen find their education goals and create a path to achievement, helps them take full advantage of the Air Force’s Resources.
