FORT LEE, Va. – The U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps recognized 17 individuals and two units during its Distinguished Members and Units of the Corps ceremony May 1 at the Quartermaster Museum on Fort Lee, Virginia.

“The men and women recognized here today are the best of the best in the Quartermaster Corps,” said Brig. Gen. Rodney D. Fogg, quartermaster general and commandant, U.S. Army Quartermaster School. “The fact we get to recognize them and that they are continuing to mentor and lead our great Soldiers to being the finest in the Corps and our Army is outstanding.”

The Distinguished Member of the Corps award, introduced in 1991, honors selected individuals who have made distinguished contributions to the Quartermaster Corps, and who, by virtue of prestige, status and experience, assist in fostering corps pride and esprit de corps.

The 2018 Quartermaster Distinguished Members of the Corps inductees were: Col. Jason P. Affolder, Department of the Army G3/5/7, Pentagon, Washington D.C.; Col. Aaron M. Hughes; and Chief Warrant Officer 4 (ret.) Duane V. Wallace.

The Distinguished Unit of the Corps (DUOC) award was introduced in 1993 to recognize outstanding units, past and present, who have made a significant contribution to the Quartermaster Corps.

The 2018 DUOC award was given to Support Battalion, U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School, Fort Bragg, and the 311th Quartermaster Company (Mortuary Affairs), U.S. Army Reserves, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.

The ceremony was held as part of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command Sustainment Week branch day activities.
