    DALLAS (NNS) -- NRD (Navy Recruiting District) Dallas held a change of command and retirement ceremony at the Frontiers of Flight Museum, May 24.
    Cmdr. Brock Miller relieved Cmdr. Michael Hall as commanding officer of the recruiting district.
    The official party of the ceremony included the guest speaker, Rear Adm. James Lair, Navy USN (Ret.), Chaplain, Lt. Cmdr. Diane Hampton, who led the invocation and the benediction and Commodore, Navy Recruiting Region West, Capt. Jason Webb. Capt. Webb awarded Cmdr. Hall with the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) for outstanding achievement as commanding officer.
    While serving as commanding officer of NRD Dallas, Hall expertly led one of the largest recruiting districts in Naval recruiting with 245 military and civilian personnel that allowed his command to recruit over 4,000 Active and Reserve Sailors during his tour at NRD Dallas, from May 2015 to May 2018.
    Hall acknowledged the support that assisted in his achievements at NRD Dallas.
    “It was an honor and a privilege to serve as the commanding officer of NRD Dallas,” said Hall. “I wish for continuous success for NRD Dallas and would like to thank Command Master Chief Kitchens and the entire chief’s mess for their wisdom, guidance and expert leadership that they provided.”
    Miller recognized Hall’s outstanding leadership abilities and provided his assurance to the future success of NRD Dallas.
    “I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the men and women of NRD Dallas, and it is my duty to continue to build upon the foundations that Cmdr. Hall has built,” said Miller.
    Directly following the change of command, a retirement reception was held for Cmdr. Hall.
    A native of Milpitas, Calif., Hall received his commission from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and subsequently reported to Corpus Christi, Texas and Kingsville, Texas, where he was assigned to Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA for training in the F/A-18C Hornet.
    After completing flight training, Cmdr. Hall he flew 28 missions in support of operations IRAQI FREEDOM and SOUTHERN WATCH and flew 25 missions in support of operations ENDURING FREEDOM and NEW DAWN.
    Hall received a master’s degree from the US Naval War College in Newport, R.I.
    Hall’s awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, an individual Air Medal with bronze “V” (combat distinguishing device), 3 strike-flight Air Medals, a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with bronze “V” (combat distinguishing device), and other various personal, unit, and service awards.
    NRD Dallas encompasses 220,000 square miles that includes North Texas and Oklahoma.
