Soldiers participating in the 86th Training Division's Combat Support Training Exercise (CSTX) 86-18-04 were busy in late June completing numerous exercise tasks at Fort McCoy, Wis.

More than 6,000 troops from across the United States are training in the exercise, according to the 86th.

The exercise is part of the Army Reserve's Combat Support Training Program, or CSTP.

CSTP exercises are large-scale, collective-training exercises designed to immerse units into tactical training environments that closely replicate what they might experience in operational deployments.

The 86th Training Division is a tenant organization at Fort McCoy.

Fort McCoy has supported America’s armed forces since 1909. The installation’s motto is to be the “Total Force Training Center.” The post’s varied terrain, state-of-the-art ranges, new as well as renovated facilities, and extensive support infrastructure combine to provide military personnel with an environment in which to develop and sustain the skills necessary for mission success.
