CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait (June 29, 2018) - U.S. Army Central Soldiers traveled to Camp Buehring, Kuwait, for the third day of the 2018 USARCENT Best Warrior Competition, June 29, 2018.

The day's events spanned 17 hours and started with a timed run through a grueling obstacle course and ended with a night land navigation course.

"The obstacle course was physically demanding," said U.S. Army Sgt. Nigel A. Charles, a military policeman, assigned to Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve. "The terrain, as well as the heat and the wind blowing sand in your face."

U.S. Army Sgt. Adam Everett, a military policeman assigned to USARCENT Personal Security Detachment finished first in the obstacle course with a time of 4 minutes, 20 seconds.

"I feel like we are all pretty competitive out here," said Everett. "We're all striving for the same thing."

After the obstacle course, the competitors moved on to an Electronic Simulated Training weapons range where they were tested on their proficiency with both the M9 pistol and the M4 carbine.

The Soldiers then took multiple written tests on land navigation and warrior task skills before heading out to the land navigation course near Camp Buehring.

"These Soldiers are good, they truly are some of the best competitors," said Charles. "I am honored to be among them."

The winners of the overall competition will move on to represent USARCENT at the Army best warrior competition at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia.
