CENTAL COMMAND AREA OF OPERATIONS – The 341st Military Police Company, an Army Reserve unit based out of Mountain View, California, conducted a transfer of authority ceremony May 25 with its successor unit, the 810th Military Police Company, an Army Reserve unit based out of Tampa, Florida.
The primary mission of the military police companies stationed in the Middle East, is to provide force protection to the facility. The unit personnel man the gates for ingress and egress, and man the watch towers as well. They operate the base defense operations center and visitor control center as well as providing security for the ammo supply point and conducting roving patrols. Members of the units’ personal security detail element escort distinguished visitors and other personnel off the installation.
The commander of the 341st MP Co., Capt. Felipe Marquez praised his soldiers for their resourcefulness and resiliency during the mission. Marquez also thanked the 35th Engineer Brigade commander, Col. Anthony Adrian, for his “mentorship and guidance during the most difficult parts of this mobilization.” To the incoming 810th soldiers, Marquez said, “I wish you all great success and a safe deployment.”
Incoming commander Maj. Stephen Rattan thanked the 341st leadership and soldiers for their efforts in preparing the 810th to take over the mission.
“We greatly appreciated you reaching out to your counterparts while we were at Fort Bliss in order to paint a clearer common operating picture, and appreciate your guidance and instruction upon arrival.”
To the 810th soldiers, Rattan said, “I task you with the following: Continue to sharpen the saw; continue to conduct yourself in a professional manner; and build good enduring relationships with our program partners.”
To do this work, Rattan reminded his soldiers of what Gen. Patton would say, “A pint of sweat, saves a gallon of blood!”
Adrian congratulated and thanked the 341st soldiers for their exceptional service and a job well done.
“The 341st made it a priority to reinvigorate the new South Gate project. They made recommendations for improvements and were the driving force behind the completion of the gate. During their time of service the 341st also extended their influence … and improved relations with host nation partners by working closely with the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Defense Military Police and the Royal Saudi Land Forces.”
To the 810th MP Co., Adrian said, “I am confident that you will take the torch the 341st is handing off. Your success is essential to providing a safe, orderly, and professional operational environment and the people who work and live here.”
    No Task Too Large!
