Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) personnel operated remote-controlled robots for multiple training scenarios June 22, 2018, at the Combined Arms Collective Training Facility at Fort McCoy, Wis.

The training was part of Exercise Audacious Warrior 2018. Remote-controlled robots are used to reduce threats to EOD personnel.

Nearly 60 Airmen from 10 states as well as teams of international service members who are part of explosive ordnance disposal teams trained at Fort McCoy for 12 days in late June to early July as part of the exercise. Training also took place at Volk Field, Wis.

Throughout the training, the EOD Airmen completed scenarios in convoy operations, populated-area responses for IEDs, and more.

Fort McCoy has supported America’s armed forces since 1909. The installation’s motto is to be the “Total Force Training Center.” The post’s varied terrain, state-of-the-art ranges, new as well as renovated facilities, and extensive support infrastructure combine to provide military personnel with an environment in which to develop and sustain the skills necessary for mission success.
