The National Training Center NTC conducts ten, 28 day rotations annually. The tough, realistic conditions of Fort Irwin combined with the live, virtual and constructive scenarios and a World-Class Opposing Force (OPFOR) stress BCT’s from deployment to redeployment. NTC rotations are intentionally designed so that units face their hardest day in combat here so that they are better prepared to face any threat on future deployments. Over the course of a rotation, units face a time compressed, realistic and relevant Decisive Action scenario on unforgiving terrain. The Decisive Action Training Scenarios incorporate a collection of training stimulus from threats all around the world and include: near-peer conventional forces, insurgents, criminal activity, humanitarian crisis and civilians on the battlefield.
About the training unit:
The Army's active and reserve components are vital to fulfilling national military needs, maintaining Army readiness standards throughout the components is crucial for national military strategy. The largest element of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard is the 28th Infantry Division. Founded in 1879, the 28th ID is recognized as the oldest continuous serving division in the United States Army. The Brigade has a long history of combat operations, but it also has been instrumental in assisting the nation in times of natural disasters.
