Senior Airman Christopher Knaus, 380th Expeditionary Medical Group X-ray technician, works in the medical facility at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, Aug. 8, 2018. Knaus was recognized as an outstanding performer by his team in the month of August. In his tenure at Al Dhafra Air Base, Knaus was responsible for performing over 755 exams and managing 180 patients under 9 care providers. He single handedly offset the cost of potential medical expenses upwards of $628,000 by performing after-hour emergency operations, off-base patient transfers and restoration of medical equipment belonging to the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing. Knaus’ commitment to the Air Force’s Core Values and demonstration of excellence in all we do has solidified his spot in the Airman Spotlight.
