Participants with the 2018 Patriot Warrior exercise conducted an exercise training scenario Aug. 14, 2018, that included a C-17 Globemaster III at the Sparta-Fort McCoy Airport at Fort McCoy, Wis.
Patriot Warrior is Air Force Reserve Command's exercise providing Reserve Airmen an opportunity to train with joint and international partners in airlift, aeromedical evacuation, and mobility support.
Patriot Warrior is held at the installation at the same time as the Global Medic 2018 exercise and the Army Reserve's Combat Support Training Exercise 86-18-02, which is coordinated by the 86th Training Division at Fort McCoy.
In 2017, Air Force Reserve Brig. Gen. James Fontanella said in a story about Patriot Warrior that Fort McCoy provides an excellent environment for their training.
"Fort McCoy is the perfect location for this annual exercise because service members are completely immersed in an environment replicating the deployed mindset for multiple weeks working together with joint and coalition forces just as they do when our nation calls," Fontanella wrote.
Fort McCoy has supported America’s armed forces since 1909. The installation’s motto is to be the “Total Force Training Center.” The post’s varied terrain, state-of-the-art ranges, new as well as renovated facilities, and extensive support infrastructure combine to provide military personnel with an environment in which to develop and sustain the skills necessary for mission success.
