WACKERNHEIM, Germany - 10 countries competed in a 2-day shooting competition at the Wackernheim Range Complex called the Mont-Kali Shooting Competition, Aug. 10-11.
The event was designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas while promoting bonds of camaraderie. The Monte-Kali competition is the largest military shooting competition in Europe. This year 10 Nations (USA, Germany, Netherlands, France, Italy, Poland, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Rep) participated in the competition.
During the execution of the 35th year of the event, the US Army promoted various range operation techniques while demonstrating the professionalism of our military component.
The cooperative range activity allowed partner nations to demonstrate their individual range operations, thereby placing the US Army into a support/oversight role for the safety and security for 1,358 shooting participants.
The competition progressed far past the point of “trust building” into the realm of a fully integrated training activity.
