This month’s Charlie West Spotlight is Senior Airman Brittni Jones, an Aerospace Medical Service Journeyman for the 130th Medical Group.

Jones is a native of Parkersburg, W.Va. and has been with the unit for six years. In her full time job, she serves the 130th MDG as a Health Service Technician.

As an Aerospace Medical Service Journeyman, Jones completes an array of different tasks including assisting with dental check ups, optical and other areas.

“We do a little bit of everything and essentially, we are a huge part in making sure deployers and air crew are mission qualified”, said Jones. “Without us, the flyers wouldn’t fly and deployers wouldn’t deploy.”

In the full-time side, as a Health Service Technician, Jones mostly deals with scheduling, waivers and other administrative work.

As her career in the military progresses, she has only one goal: to make Chief Master Sgt.

Her goals in her civilian life are simple as well, Jones says she just wants to be able to give her son the best life she can.

“Besides reading in my spare time, my son is my biggest hobby and focus,” Jones explained. “And the 130th and the military has done so much for me, I’ve grown up so much and it's making me a better mother, it lets me give him not only things he needs, but the things he wants.”

She also explained that her favorite moment here at the 130th was her 2017 trip to Alaska with the 130th MDG.

“There was so much to love about that trip,” Jones said. “It was so beautiful, we got good training and we built upon the sense of community we have, the people I work with are awesome.”
