During the town hall Wilson discussed current issues the Air Force is facing today, and how she plans to improve them.
“We need to begin focusing on our front-line fighting elements (operational squadrons), and everything that supports them,” said Wilson. “We need to figure out what they need to be ready to fight, and line up behind them.”
When asked about improving organizational climate, Wilson said the goal was to focus on giving power back to squadrons, giving time back to Airmen, and empowering commanders to make decisions for their bases.
“We must get back to our roots,” said Wilson. “Our goal is to be faster and better than any other.”
During her visit, Wilson also familiarized herself with the Grand Forks Air Force Base mission. She toured various parts of the base to include the newly renovated Airey Dining Facility, conducted focus groups with airmen, viewed the RQ-4 Global Hawk and gained greater knowledge on how it contributes to the Air Force mission.
