The three-man team from 285th Civil Engineering Squadron Heating, Ventilation, Air Condition/ Refrigeration Shop technicians was given a task and worked together to get field deployable environmental control units to work.
“Although we are understaffed we are still able to work together as a team and get the work done,” said Tech. Sgt. Akil McFarlande the HVAC technician non-commissioned officer in charge from the VIANG 285th Civil Engineer Squadron. “The hands-on experience is more like a refresher course for those who haven’t done this in a while, and can benefit those who needs skill level training.
The airmen were given a few broken field deployable environmental control units and asked to troubleshoot the units then fix the issue.
“For me this is skill level upgrade training that will help me to go from apprentice to journeyman which I am actually excited about,” said airman first class Benjamin St. Brice Jr., an HVAC technician from the VIANG 285th Civil Engineer Squadron.
The service members will be utilizing the training site for two weeks to get essential training in preparation for an upcoming deployment.
