The 28th Maintenance Squadron metals technology shop runs 24-hour operations to provide different metals technologies for all squadrons at Ellsworth Air Force Base.
The metals tech flight assists with any aircraft assets requiring welding, machining or fabrication. They also support cold spray technology for the B-1 by creating mock-ups prior to actual implementation.
