NEWBURGH, N.Y. (June 2, 2018) – Senior Master Sgt. Paul Olson, assigned to the 105th Logistics Readiness Squadron, was promoted to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant during a ceremony at Stewart Air National Guard base June 2, 2018.
The son of a veteran and the only child of eight to follow in his father’s footsteps, Olson began his career 31 years ago when he enlisted in the United Stated Navy.
Four years later, he enlisted with the 105th Airlift Wing where he serves to this day with the Logistics Readiness Squadron.
Olson accepted an appointment to become the Logistics Readiness Squadron’s Vehicle Fleet Manager last year.
Olson was joined during the promotion ceremony by Airman 1st Class Steven Passaglia and Airman 1st Class Christian Kelley, who were selected to place his new rank.
Olson explained that he chose the younger Airmen to demonstrate the any goal is attainable, even the highest enlisted rank in the Air Force, through hard work and perseverance.
