U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Albuquerque District

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Former District Commander Col. (P) Kimberly Colloton recently paid a visit to the Albuquerque District, her first in her new role as South Pacific Division Commander.

Colloton, who commanded the Albuquerque District from 2008 to 2010, assumed command of SPD on July 25, 2018. Colloton is very familiar with SPD, having been not only a former Albuquerque District commander, but also a former Los Angeles District commander from 2013 to 2015. She also has additional U.S. Army Corps of Engineers experience serving as commander of USACE’s Afghanistan Engineer District from August 2017 to June 2018.

During her three-day visit to the District, Colloton visited the Cochiti Lake project office, where she presented coins to several park rangers and maintenance workers in recognition for their outstanding work.

Colloton met with Santa Clara Pueblo Governor Michael Chavarria, Aug. 29, followed by a tour of the Santa Clara Pueblo watershed restoration sites in Santa Clara Canyon. Following her visit to Santa Clara Pueblo, she traveled to the District’s Los Alamos resident office. Here she met District staff, saw several of the District’s projects at Los Alamos National Labs, and recognized three District employees there for their outstanding work.

The final day of her visit, Aug. 30, Colloton toured the NNSA Albuquerque Complex project site and the Bulk Fuels treatment facility, both located at Kirtland Air Force Base. She rounded out her visit to the District with an overview of area levee projects. Throughout her visit, Colloton spent time reconnecting with District employees from her time here as District commander.

“It was a pleasure to see so many familiar faces, meet new teammates and recognize the outstanding work you continue to do at the District,” Colloton said.
