NAVAL STATION GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba—Approximately 40 Joint Task Force Guantanamo Troopers and Naval Station residents participated in the GTMO Army 10-Miler Shadow Run, Sept. 22. The Shadow Run mirrors the official Army 10-Miler which is held annually in Washington D.C. and Arlington, VA in October. The Army 10-Miler originated in 1985 with the mission to support Army outreach, build moral, and promote physical fitness.
Runners stepped off at Cooper Field Complex just before 6 a.m. and made their way down Sherman Avenue for five miles before turning around and making the return trek. The first finisher of the race completed the course with a finishing time of 1:08.
