James E. Miller of Marshall, a chaplain with the Taylor-based, 210th Military Police Battalion, Michigan National Guard, was promoted to the rank of Major.
Miller is currently a fulltime pastor and Hospice chaplain with 13 total years of military service. He is a graduate of the Chaplain Basic Officer Leadership Course, Fort Jackson, S.C., and has deployed in support of Operation Just Cause and Operation Enduring Freedom. His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters.
Miller holds a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Ministries, a Master’s degree in Christian Education, and Doctorate in Ministry. He is married to Renee Miller and has two children, Tyler and Kitana.
