SANTA RITA, Guam (Oct. 26, 2018) – Submarine tender USS Frank Cable (AS 40), held a change of command ceremony aboard the ship in Apra Harbor, Guam, Oct. 26.
Capt. Jeff Bierley relieved Capt. Jeff Farah as the commanding officer of Frank Cable. Capt. Doug Bradley, representative for commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMSUBPAC) was the presiding officer over the ceremony.
Farah has served as commanding officer of Frank Cable since May 2017. Farah heads to Hawaii, where he will serve as COMSUBPAC N4.
Under Farah’s command, Frank Cable was awarded: the 2016 and 2017 SECNAV Safety Excellence Awards, the 2017 SECNAV Environmental Stewardship Award, and the 2017 CPF Retention Excellence Award.
Bierley reports to Guam after serving as the Director Maritime Headquarters, Assistant Chief of Staff for Training and Readiness, and Director of the Commander’s Initiatives Group, U.S. 7th Fleet.
