Story by Molly Cooke, Frontline Staff
More than 6,500 people attended the Stewart-Hunter Fall Carnival and Oktoberfest on Fort Stewart’s Donovan Field over the weekend.
The Carnival kicked-off the week of fun Oct. 25 with a host of rides and skill games, which were designed to provide fun for all ages. Friday night’s Oktoberfest celebration was a feast for the senses. Included was a keg tapping, German food, beverages, music by the 3rd Infantry Division Band, and a Mr. and Ms. Oktoberfest contest.
The carnival came to a close on Sunday evening but the fun was far from over. Nearly 4,000 people attended the annual installation wide Trunk or Treat, Oct. 29.
Families and children joined the fun as units and organizations handed out candy from the back of their vehicles during the free event. The 3rd ID band made was on hand to entertain the crowd as waited to visit each vehicle. The evening concluded with a contest for the best decorated vehicle and best costume.
