Evacuation lifted at NBVC Point Mugu

Naval Base Ventura County Point Mugu, Calif., – Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Commanding Officer, Captain Jeff Chism, announced that the mandatory evacuation of NBVC Point Mugu due to Southern California fires was officially lifted on 12 Nov.
With this announcement, military members, DOD personnel and their families are now able to return to NBVC Point Mugu and begin the process of returning the base back to normal working conditions.
“I want to thank the NBVC team for their hard work in providing safety to base personnel and residents. I want to recognize the important mutual aid relationship we have with Ventura County OES and CAL FIRE and I want to thank them for their support,” stated NBVC Commanding Officer, Capt. Jeff Chism.
NBVC personnel should get in contact with their individual commands and notify the command of their status and receive further instructions prior to returning to NBVC Point Mugu. Also utilize Navy Family accountability Assessment System (NFAAS) for accountability.
