“First time I came back here to the area was to check on our house. After we checked on it, we came back here to Tyndall just to drive by to take a look at the devastation. It was pretty surreal seeing the base devastated. It was a surreal experience driving by the hangars, the roofs blown off, it was a tough sight to see.
It’s a pretty good feeling, I like to think that I’m making a difference here in rebuilding not only the squadron but helping the 325th [Fighter Wing], the 53rd WEG rebuild. I’m pretty optimistic. A lot of people here, they just want to help. I see a lot of great positive attitudes here at Tyndall so I’m excited to be back, excited to work everyone that wants to help rebuild so it’s not really big deal for me.
I’m glad to be back and just doing my job, helping the warfighter, executing the mission.”
