FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa.-Civilian employees from the Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs here attended an education and outreach event hosted by the installation in October.
The intent of the event was to show administrative support employees in areas like purchasing and maintenance how their efforts support the installation, and the service members who train here. The event include access to areas of the installation that are normally inaccessible like the combined arms collective training facility, and other training ranges, along with briefings by range experts.
Many employees were able to identify projects that they had helped to support. For instance one employee assisted in purchasing shutters for the combined arms collective training facility.
The installation’s focus is to support commanders in preparing their units for federal and state missions. The installation serves as a pre-deployment training site for all branches and components as they prepare for a variety of missions
