DALLAS – The Exchange Credit Program spread cheer to five service members this holiday season with $25,000 in cash prizes.
One winner each from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard received $5,000 to help with last-minute holiday gifts, travel and other purchases as part of the MILITARY STAR card’s Home for the Holidays Sweepstakes, sponsored by EURPAC.
“We love our troops and our military community,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s senior enlisted advisor. “They make so many sacrifices for us every day. Being able to give back to them, especially during this time of year, is what the Exchange and MILITARY STAR are all about.”
Service members and families who shopped both the Exchange and the commissary with their MILITARY STAR card during the sweepstakes period were automatically entered into the drawing. The MILITARY STAR card is administered by the Army & Air Force Exchange Service.
Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Jose Serrano Juarbe, who shopped at MacDill Air Force Base, said he would use his winnings to help replace his car, which recently broke down.
“This is a godsend,” Serrano Juarbe said.
Retired Tech. Sgt. Allen Jones, who served 30 years in the Air Force, plans to spend his prize on holiday presents for his seven grandchildren. He shopped at Beale Air Force Base Exchange and commissary.
“To be able to use MILITARY STAR at the commissary and the Exchange is awesome,” he said.
The other winners were Navy Ensign Blake Wilson, Marine Corps Sgt. Dustin Thompson and Coast Guard Chief Warrant Officer John Bowles.
The MILITARY STAR card is an exclusive line of credit for service members and their families to use at exchanges and commissaries—no matter where they serve. For a list of winners and information about the MILITARY STAR card, visit MyECP.com.
