CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait – The 101st Expeditionary Signal Battalion (101st ESB) conducted its final live fire range exercise with the M-4 rifle and 9mm pistol at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, January 16, 2019.
The 101st ESB is headquartered in Yonkers, New York and has elements in Peekskill and Orangeburg.
The Army National Guard unit that has served nine months in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield, providing communications support for more than a dozen operating sites in some seven countries across the Middle East as part of the coalition effort to defeat the Islamic State, also known as ISIS.
The 98th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, is headquartered in Mesa, Arizona will replace the 101st ESB as they begin to transition back to New York.
