Fort McCoy Garrison Commander Col. Hui Chae Kim and members of the post Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security welcomed several guest speakers during the first Vigilant Triad Hazardous Material and Mass-Casualty Seminar on Jan. 24, 2019, in building 905 at Fort McCoy, Wis.
The seminar included presentations from the Canadian Pacific Railroad Police and hazardous materials officer.
A representative from the Western Wisconsin Health Emergency Response Coalition also gave a presentation.
The goal of the seminar was to help prepare the Fort McCoy workforce for the Vigilant Triad 2019 exercise later in the year.
Additionally, the intent was to improve the installation's ability to support the post community before, during, and after a natural, manmade accidental, or intentional event.
The seminar was organized by the Fort McCoy Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security.
Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin. The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
