    Father and Son Share in Army Traditions

    TULSA - Sgt. 1st Class Rodney Terrell Moses and son Jalen Terrell Moses share in an Army tradition by participating in a swear-in ceremony at the Oklahoma City Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). Sgt. 1st Class Moses, a recruiter for the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion – Oklahoma City, Tulsa Company is soon to retire after 32 years of service. His son Jalen Moses, following in his father’s footsteps, is joining and will additionally become a part of The University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) Reserves Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program where he will study Business.

    "I didn't want him doing this because I did," said Moses. "I wanted him to do it for himself."

    Excited about his new opportunity to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves, Jalen Moses, a Class 6All 2017 All State Champion, First Team All-District football player from Booker T. Washington High School, Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he also ran track accepted a football scholarship to UCO.

    "It's a good base for me, says Jalen about joining. "I'm going in as an officer so that I can one day have the keys to running my own business."

    Jalen chose the Army Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) of Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic (91B), he says working on cars has always been a past time for him and he would love to learn more. The decision to join any branch of the military is never easy, but the support at home can be. Parent's play a pivotal role in their child's decision to join.
