Stewart Air National Guard Base, N.Y. (Feb. 10, 2019) — 105th Human Resources Office is scheduled to hold a variety of professional development trainings at the 105th Airlift Wing Air National Guard Base, Newburgh N.Y. this year.
Senior Master Sgt. Tommy Garcia the 105th Installation Development Manager organizes these development opportunities.
Garcia’s vision for the training and the opportunities coming up is for Airmen to become as successful as possible.
“The impact of this is we will have more effective and resilient Airmen and this will also increase our retention rate,” Garcia said.
One of the trainings was called 4 Lenses Temperament Awareness Training, which was held Jan. 5, 2019. The training was for company grade officers and consisted of self-reflection and learning how to handle different personalities and how they think.
2nd Lt. Steve Morris, the Installation Deployment Officer for the 105th, participated in this training and found it to be helpful and informative.
“It reinforced the different needs that different personality types have and function at their best.” Morris said.
This training is one of a few opportunities offered throughout the year and aimed at everyone from Airmen to command.
“We’re just taking each others strengths,” said Garcia, “and coming together and this will build the diversity.”
