YAVORIV, Ukraine- Select soldiers from the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment were recognized for their excellence during their deployment, here, Feb. 16.
Col. Tim Cleveland presented Cpt. Aaron Lougheed from the Mayor's Cell, the U.S. Army Europe commander's coin on behalf of Lt. Gen. Christopher Cavoli.
"Receiving Cavoli's coin was an honor for me and my section. We do a lot behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly here..." said Lougheed.
The Mayor's Cell is responsible for multiple improvements on base that improve the health and welfare of Soldiers.
Command Sgt. Maj. Dale Crockett presented 1st Sgt. Eddy Burns the U.S. Army Europe command sergeant major coin on behalf of Command Sgt. Maj. Rob Abernethy. Burns was instrumental in assisting with the BLC prep training, planning and executing the Noncommissioned Officer Induction Ceremony, and the upcoming spur ride event.
Master Sgt. Chris Keith also received the U.S. Army Europe command sergeant major coin. He routinely exceeds the standard and has been instrumental in developing the Gunnery Skills Test training, Vehicle Crew Evaluator Course, developing plans for preparations for de-mobilization and the spur ride event.
The Tennessee Guardsmen are currently deployed to Ukraine in support of the Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine, which focuses its efforts on further developing and modernizing the Yavoriv Combat Training Center.
