The U.S. Army Europe Office of the Judge Advocate recently hosted the National Security Law Continuing Legal Education event at Edelweiss Lodge, Garmisch, Germany.
The training event, themed "Legal Interoperability: The Key to Alliance Readiness," focused on improving legal interoperability amongst NATO allies and partners.
The presenters included U.S. Army Europe Chief of Staff German Brig. Gen. Hartmut Renk; Chief Legal Advisor and Director of the Office of Legal Affairs at NATO Steven Hill; Dr. Graeme Herd, George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies; Torsten Corall, NATO Cyber Defence Center of Excellence; and 150 attorneys and paraprofessionals from 10 nations.
The training addressed a wide variety of legal topics in the operational and international law arenas, including classes on cyber security, threats in the European theater, and data protection issues in a multinational environment.
