Thousands of troops trained at Fort McCoy during March 2019.
Training included institutional training, such as the Cold-Weather Operations Course taught by Fort McCoy's Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security, and training for Operation Cold Steel III.
Operation Cold Steel III is the U.S. Army Reserve's crew-served weapons exercise that focuses on training and qualifying Soldiers to provide lethal and combat ready units to deploy anywhere in the world, according to the Army Reserve.
Located in the heart of the upper Midwest, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin.
The installation has provided support and facilities for the field and classroom training of more than 100,000 military personnel from all services each year since 1984.
