    Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division

    Matthew Ely Stone Petty Officer First Class Fire Controlman AEGIS (SW/AW) has been named Senior Sailor of the Quarter for Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD). Matt Stone received this honor for supporting the Fleet by correcting over twenty-five casualties to AEGIS display equipment and installed several ordnance alterations. He also managed a budget of over five thousand dollars for the planning and execution of the Command Holiday Party. And his continued community service.
    Stone joined the Navy on 15 June 2000 from his hometown of Bandera, Texas. His previous duty stations were, USS Port Royal CG 73 (2002-2006), NRD San Antonio (2006-2010), USS Stout DDG 55 (2010-2015), USS Lake Erie CG 70 (2015-2017). His navy career includes five deployments in support of combat operations in the Persian Gulf, Libya and Syria. This year he received the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM) for his dedication to the community by volunteering over thirty off duty hours to various organizations in Ventura County.
    Stone works as an AEGIS Display Tech Rep. In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) providing shipboard assessments, ordnance and ship alterations, technical reviews, hands on training to Fleet sailors, military liaison to civilian engineers, and scientists for display equipment. His additional duties include, Morale and Welfare team lead, Sailor 360, MSR, and CFC coordinator. He has been at NSWC PHD for eighteen months. In his off-duty hours he enjoys kayaking and paddle boarding in the Channel Islands Harbor.
    NSWC PHD is a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command and provides the global United States Navy fleet with integration, test and evaluation, life-cycle logistics, and in-service engineering for today's and tomorrow's warfare systems. Located at Naval Base Ventura County, Calif., NSWC PHD employs more than 2,500 personnel and has been mission ready for 54 years.
