YAVORIV, Ukraine- The Tennessee Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Jeff H. Holmes visited with troops and toured the training area, here, Apr. 5.
Holmes, appointed by Governor Bill Lee, is the 76th Adjutant General for the state of Tennessee and assumed command March 2019.
Holmes toured the newest addition to the Yavoriv Training Center, the Military Operations in Urban Terrain where the Ukrainian 72nd Mechanized Brigade preformed demonstrations as the U.S. mentors oversaw the training.
Following the training exercise, Holmes met with several of the U.S. Troops and discussed their experiences during this deployment.
“This is what I want - to come see you guys and see the stuff you all are doing and the affects you are having here,” stated Holmes.
Additionally, Holmes toured the living facilities and the new renovations built by several of the Soldiers to include the new gym, gazebo, exchange store, and Morale, Welfare and Recreation tent.
“I know you are out here doing great stuff and you should realize that you have a huge impact on the entire Army as well,” said Holmes after congratulating the Troops for their accomplishments during this deployment.
The 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment is currently deployed to Ukraine supporting the development of the Yavoriv Combat Training Center.
