    CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – 2nd Marine Logistics Group welcomed their new command master chief during a change of charge ceremony on April 4, 2019.

    Master Chief Richard A. Jackson assumed the role of command master chief at a ceremony in front of 2nd MLG headquarters building.

    As command master chief, Jackson is the top naval enlisted member, working alongside the sergeant major to advise the commanding general on enlisted affairs.

    Jackson enlisted in the Navy in February 1993, serving as a Hospital Corpsman. Majority of his 26-year service in the Navy, has involved working alongside Marines. He deployed with 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit during Operation Secure Tomorrow and in support of Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. Before arriving at 2nd MLG, his previous duty station was Strike Fighter Squadron 143 at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia serving as the command master chief.

    “I have big boots to fill” said Jackson during the ceremony. “Know your roll and grab your pack, that’s what I am here to do.”

    Jackson takes over as command master chief from Master Chief Christopher Rebana.

    Brig. Gen. Kevin Stewart, expressed his gratitude and respect for the time Rebana spent as the command master chief.

    “He set the standard, I can think of no one better who represents the spirit of the Navy-Marine Corps team,” said Brig. Gen. Kevin Stewart, commanding general of 2nd MLG, who presided over the ceremony.

    Rebana served as the command master chief for 3 years. He will be continuing his career at 2nd Marine Division.
