FOB WARRIOR, Iraq -- The Adjutant General (TAG) for Oregon, Maj. Gen. Raymond Rees, the state's National Guard commander, arrived Sept. 26 at Forward Operating Base Warrior, Iraq, to begin a planned visit with the soldiers of the 116th Brigade Combat Team's Oregon National Guard Soldiers.
His arrival marked the first time the Oregon commander has visited his troops deployed with the 116th BCT since being sworn in to a third term as Oregon's top Guard commander July 1. Rees had formerly served as Oregon TAG from May 1987 to June 1991 and August 1994 to March 1999.
Rees talked extensively with soldiers during his visit, making it a point to visit Forward Operating Bases Warrior, Gaines Mills and McHenry where his soldiers are stationed. He was congratulatory and attentive to the soldiers at each location.
