CAMP COURTNEY, OKINAWA, Japan-- Members of the local and U.S. communities participated in the 2019 Camp Courtney Easter Egg Hunt April 20.
Children gathered around to hunt for the hundreds of candy filled eggs.
“Our goal is to bring the community together and make it fun for the kids,” said Brenton Welk, the Camp Courtney Commissary grocery manager.
The Easter egg hunt was hosted by the Camp Courtney Commissary and Exchange along with support from the Camp Courtney Commander, Navy Federal Credit Union and others.
“The kids love it,” said Ken Randle, the Camp Courtney Exchange store manager. "Just watching the kids smile and have fun is what means the most to us.”
After the hunt, participants were greeted with food and refreshments provided by the commissary and exchange. There was also a guest appearance by the Easter bunny.
“We really enjoy coming to the commissary and that’s why we came to the Easter egg hunt," said Jamie Webb, a participant at the event. "We wanted to support the staff because they are good people and they take care of us.”
