The West Virginia Army National Guard Soldier Spotlight for April is Sgt. Jacob Mason from the 1257th Transportation Company in Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
Mason is a motor transport operator who has served in the WVARNG for eight years and is a native of Parkersburg, West Virginia. In his time out of uniform, Mason is a Pharmacist who’s goals are to advance the quality of healthcare by improving outcomes, decreasing cots, and raising quality of life for his patients in the community.
He describes being most proud of completing pharmacy school and one of the best moments in his life was when he received his acceptance into pharmacy school.
He enjoys motorsports and hiking when not working or at drill. He said his favorite moment in the WVARNG has been responding to natural disasters in the State of West Virginia to help rebuild and support the communities he grew up in.
When asked to describe what he liked best about the WVARNG, Mason said, “The best part is growing a second family of Soldiers that you can always rely on.”
