BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The 460th Space Wing welcomed new leadership during a change of command ceremony May 3, 2019, here.
Col. Devin Pepper, 460th SW commander, took command of the wing from outgoing commander, Col. Troy Endicott.
Maj. Gen. Stephen N. Whiting, 14th Air Force commander, Air Force Space Command; and Deputy Joint Force Space Component Commander, U.S. Strategic Command, officiated the ceremony and provided opening remarks.
“The space effects delivered to our nation and joint force through the capabilities that you provide from this wing are the foundation for the American way of the world,” said Whiting. “These are two of the best leaders our Air Force has to offer, and I am honored to participate in their ceremony.”
Pepper joins the 460th SW after serving as the 21st Operations Group commander, Peterson Air Force Base.
“I am honored to be your wing commander,” said Pepper. “I look forward to the challenges and opportunities we will have together. We will have a significant role in protecting our nation and its assets from threats around the globe.”
While Endicott’s time as commander here was shorter than the normal two-year tour, he has been selected for promotion to brigadier general and will be taking his talents to the white house to serve on the National Security Council staff.
“Thank you for the privilege to lead you. It’s been the utmost honor of my professional career,” said Endicott. “My wife, Tammy, and I will remain your biggest champions as you’ve been our most treasured sources of inspiration.”
