The 2nd Beach and Terminal Operations, 4th Landing Support Battalion, US Marine Corps unit, stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Georgia, was recognized by the Surface Distribution Deployment Command commander, Maj. Gen. James Hodge, on March 23, for their mission support throughout the mine resistant ambush protected vehicle sealift operations, up-armored humvee sealift, and several unit deployment missions at Charleston and Savannah seaports over the last two years.

Sgt. Michael B. Perry from Bravo Company, 2nd Beach Terminal Operations received a Surface Deployment and Distribution Command Coin from Maj. Gen. James L. Hodge Commanding General Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command during the 10,000 MRAP sealift shipment celebration in Charleston.

Perry stated "Having the Marines assist and support the 841st Transportation Battalion with Port Operations adds value in multiple areas, especially when Marine Corp cargo is involved."

Through the 841st Reserve Affairs Program, Sgt. Perry, an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, provides Marine logistic support during sealift port operations.
