KOPER, Slovenia—More than 300 pieces of military equipment recently traveled from the United States to Europe as part of the summer exercises conducted through the region.

The equipment, primarily vehicles, was carried on board the carrier vessel ARC Endurance to Koper before being staged and prepared to be convoyed out to various joint military exercises throughout the European theater, including Slovenia, Hungary and the Republic of Croatia.

Every piece of equipment had to go through multiple inspections and customs, which was handled by active, reserve U.S. forces movement control teams working alongside Slovenian MCT.

The transportation of equipment is part of exercise Immediate Response 19, a multinational exercise designed to improve mission readiness.

“It is important we participate in these joint exercises because not only does it give us an opportunity to exercise our movement throughout the European theater, but that it gives us a chance to integrate with our allies and partners to rehearse joint movements,” said Capt. Lawrence Coles, a U.S. Army Reservist and commander of the 793rd Movement Control Team.
