FOB WARRIOR, Iraq -- Medical professionals from the 116th Brigade Combat Team's Task Force 2-116 Armor delivered new ultrasound probes to Azadi General Hospital October 5, marking the first of several equipment upgrades requested by hospital staff through coalition forces.

The two ultrasound probes delivered fixed the hospital's broken ultrasound system, increasing the medical capability of the hospital.

"This is the first medical equipment project to receive funding from the projects turned in by 2-116," said Capt. James Schroeder, TF 2-116 Medical Officer. "Azadi Hospital has not had a functioning ultrasound for several months and these probes will aid them in performing needed diagnostic procedures."

Schroeder said the hospital is still in need of a higher resolution ultrasound, which is another project awaiting funding, but the probes will help fill the gap until the other project is funded.

"The hospital was very grateful to receive these probes," he said.
