CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan—
U.S. Navy Sailors attached to 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, participate in the Corpsmen Challenge, June 17.
The Corpsmen Challenge consisted of 5 stations, including casualty evacuations, liter carries, and knowledge competitions.
“We hosted this event because we want to continue corpsman heritage and raise pride amongst our Sailors,” said Navy Hospital Corpsman David Wright, assigned to 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd MLG.
The battalion is hoping to host the event annually.
“We want it to be held each year before the Corpsman Ball so that way we can add some anticipation to the ball, that is where we are going to announce first place winner from today,” Wright said.
Three teams of six competed in the challenge, each group ran the course for time.
“It’s not about how fast or how strong you are, it’s about the teamwork that goes into each station, I’m glad I was able to partake in the challenge this year and I hope they continue this in the future,” said Navy Hospital Corpsman Michael Ponn, assigned to 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd MLG.
