    Fairchild’s Skyfest 2019 ready for Inland Northwest

    The Inland Northwest SkyFest Airshow and Open House, scheduled to be held at here June 22, has added additional aerial acts, static displays and other exhibits to an already spectacular line-up.


    Gates open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and aerial acts will begin around 1 p.m.


    “Our incredible team of Airmen and community partners have worked tirelessly to make Skyfest 2019 the best possible open house and air show by offering outstanding experiences for our guests,” said Maj. Mark Watson, 92nd Operations Group Instructor Pilot and Skyfest 2019 director. “The Inland Northwest community is unmatched in their support of Team Fairchild, and we can’t wait to give back by welcoming everyone to the base for another remarkable Skyfest.”

    Aerial acts will include:
    - U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor demonstration team
    - U.S. Air Force Academy Wings of Blue parachute team
    - U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team
    - Lightning Formation Airshows demonstration team
    - Fairchild AFB KC-135 Stratotanker low-pass, air refueling demo
    - U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight
    - C-17 demonstration team
    - P-51 Mustang act
    - B-52 Stratofortress fly-by
    - Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) jump team
    - Erickson Aircraft Collection Warbirds

    Static display aircraft and other exhibits will also span the Fairchild flightline, to include:
    - C-17 Globemaster III
    - F-15E Strike Eagle and F-15C Eagle
    - Air Commando Experience
    - F-35 Lightning II
    - T-38 Talon
    - B-52 Stratofortress
    - Erickson Aircraft Collection Warbirds
    - C-130J Super Hercules
    - KC-10 Extender
    - C-5 Galaxy
    - UH-1N Huey
    - KC-135
    - P-51 Mustang
    - MV-22 Osprey
    - F-16D Fighting Falcon

    There will be a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics interactive exhibit as well as hoops set-up by Spokane’s very own Hoopfest, the largest 3-on-3 outdoor basketball tournament event in the world, for attendees to play basketball.

    “This year’s Skyfest theme is Pacific Northwest Airpower, and we’ve put together a breath-taking combination of air and ground displays that will excite, entertain and leave crowds in awe of America’s global reach and power,” said Watson. “As we count down the days to show-time, I look forward to seeing as many smiling faces as possible and truly showcasing what Team Fairchild and the U.S. Air Force is all about,”

    All airshow guests must consent to security searches of all backpacks and bags before entry onto the base by Air Force Defenders.
