Thousands of Soldiers from 8 nations join together in sweat and jubilation as they navigate the paths toward working as an united force in Romania through Saber Guardian 19.

“These trainings are important so we can learn to fight together as one,” said U. S. Army Sgt. Nathan Roy of the 307th Military Police Company.

Saber Guardian 19 has given multinational service members the opportunity to live and train alongside each other in order to learn other operating procedures as well as build, maintain and strengthen relationships.

“We love to work with our partners,” said Romanian Land Forces Lt. Col. Adrain Gheroghe with 72nd Engineer Battalion, 10th Engineer Brigade, “Especially to problem-solve possible crisis situations."

The main focus of Saber Guardian has been to develop communication and understanding between these NATO allies and partners, as well as improve the integration of multinational combat forces in preparation of a real-world crisis.

“Each nation brings their own experiences to share,” says Gheroghe, “We are constantly learning from one another.”

Saber Guardian 19 is a multinational exercise co-led by Romanian Land Forces and U.S. Army Europe to enhance joint and combined interoperability between Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, the U.S., Poland, Canada, Britain and Northern Macedonia.
