Members of the 317th Airlift Wing can now receive in-house support from base helping agencies at the Human Performance Cell.

Opened June 25, the vision of the facility is to invest in human capital by making it easier for Airmen to access self-care support during the duty day.

“Having this facility is important because it will help improve our readiness by providing Airmen with each one of the four pillars of Comprehensive Airman Fitness since all of the helping agencies are in one location,” said 1st Lt. Morgan Higdon, 317th Maintenance Group executive officer. “It will also enable us to complete our out processing checklists for deployments much easier since the agencies are within our building.”

Resources and services provided within the HPC are mental health, family advocacy program, military family life counselor, physical therapy and Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment. There will be an area within the office where Airmen can sign up for same-day or next-day appointments pending availability.

The times each agency is available are below:
    MFLC - Mondays 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
    Physical Therapy - Tuesdays 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Thursdays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    Mental/Behavioral Health – Wednesdays 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
    FAP - Fridays 8 a.m. to 12p.m.
    Nutrition – Thursdays 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
    ADAPT - Monday 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
    School Liaison - Tuesdays 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Wednesdays 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

These agencies will help reach the office’s goal of improved well-being, enhanced life balance and strengthened personal readiness for all military members.

“Having the support agency members within our building will allow them to see first-hand what we do on a daily basis, which will give them a better understanding of why we go to them with any issues we have,” said Staff Sgt. Christopher Kitchen, 317th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron facility manager. “I believe being able to consistently interact with people from each agency will help remove any stigma that lingers around Airmen going to some of those support systems.”

The HPC will not only provide in-house care for Airmen throughout the day, but will also allow the Airmen to complete their in-processing and out-processing checklists more efficiently.

“We hope by having this agency, it’ll improve the quality of life while decreasing the amount of time Airmen have to spend away from the mission,” Higdon said.

The HPC facility is located in building 4216 room 305.
