The new 377th Force Support Squadron commander, Lt. Col. Daniel Rigsbee was given command during a change of command ceremony, June 26, 2019 at Kirtland Air Force Base.
The presiding officer, Col. Juan Alvarez, 377th Mission Support Group commander, presided over the transfer of command at the Mountain View Club.
As the 377th FSS commander, Rigsbee will lead over 400 military and civilian employees and continue to provide combat readiness through recruitment and development of a high quality workforce while promoting healthy and enriched lifestyles for all Kirtland personnel.
After accepting command, Rigsbee expressed eagerness to work with such great Airmen.
“[To the] members of the 377th FSS, I look forward to the adventure that lies ahead,” said Rigsbee. “As a team, we’ll work together to enhance the mission capabilities of the FSS, the wing and the Air Force. We will build upon your successes, set and achieve new goals and have fun while doing it.”
The outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Richard Reed, led the 377th FSS to the revitalization of the old base movie theater, and the continued excellence of the award winning Thunderbird Inn dining facility.
“I want all my FSS members to know how proud I am to have been given this opportunity to lead you in this amazing squadron,” said Reed.
Reed joins his family in Utah and will be the U.S. Air Force ROTC Detachment 860 commander at Utah State University.
