The Air Force Inspection Agency welcomed Col. Sloan Hollis as their new commander at a change of command ceremony here, June 27, 2019.
The AFIA reports directly to the Air Force Inspector General, and provides inspections and training to agencies across the Air Force.
“You have my loyalty down the chain, and I promise you I will do my best to earn your loyalty up the chain of command,” said Hollis. “I look forward to working with you over the next couple of years and making our Air Force better and more lethal through the inspection system.”
Col. Mark Pye, the outgoing commander, expressed his enjoyment of leading AFIA and regret at leaving.
“My family and I are humbled to have been part of this AFIA team, and not call ourselves alumni,” said Pye. “Strength through vigilance.”
The Air Force change of command ceremony is a military tradition that represents a formal transfer of authority and responsibility for a unit from one commanding officer to another.
